$1.2 Trillion? Really?
Imagine what that money could do for actual people.
Donald Trump’s proposed “Golden Dome” missile defense system was just estimated to cost $1.2 trillion over the next 20 years.
Not million. Not billion. Trillion.
And remember, Trump originally claimed it would cost around $175 billion.
Now the real estimate is nearly seven times higher.
Here’s what I keep thinking about.
Imagine what $1.2 trillion could actually do for the American people.
Affordable childcare for families struggling to stay afloat.
Housing construction on a massive scale.
Lower healthcare costs.
Expanded mental health services.
Better schools.
Cleaner communities.
Real investments in the lives people are actually living every day.
Instead, we’re talking about pouring another mountain of money into military contractors while millions of Americans can barely afford groceries and rent.
That’s ridiculous.
People are exhausted.
❌They’re exhausted by the rising cost of living.
❌Exhausted by economic instability.
❌Exhausted by politicians who seem more interested in futuristic military projects than whether families can survive another month.
Leadership should be grounded in people’s real lives.
Can they afford housing?
Can they afford healthcare?
Can they raise a family without constant financial anxiety?
That’s what should matter. That’s what matters to me.
We can build a stronger future without losing sight of the people we’re supposed to serve.
